It's called 'vibrance' because of the colors y'know. If your monitor brightness is turned down (e.g. laptop on batt) of course it won't look the part.
Btw, that's not blur due to shake. Google for bokeh if u need an explanation~
And keep in mind macro has a thin depth of field (dof). If you look at the stigma/stamen/whatever-it's-called, it's actually in focus. If either the flower or my hands were shakey, everything would be blurred.. and the blur won't be as smooth as here. ^^"
